Ramstead Ranch strives to create a pasture-based ecosystem that works with nature and honors its abundance. They provide the most natural, stress free, pasture based life possible for their livestock so they live happy lives, just as nature intended.

The intentionality behind Ramstead is off the charts. The property is entirely free of herbicides, pesticides, hormones, GMO's, and consequently, also free of unhappy animals. Not only that, the ranch is situated in an area buffered by timberlands so there is no potential for chemicals to drift over from neighboring farms.

Okanogan Highlands Bison Ranch

Okanogan Highlands Bison Ranch was started by Lloyd Archibald and his family in north central Washington on several hundred acres of lush forested hills near the town of Chesaw back in the late 1900's. How he acquired his ranch is worth mentioning, the initial investment was a straight across barter, silver bullion for land, and then came the bison. Along those same lines of rugged individualism that led to bison ranching, the Archibalds are confident that their bison herd doesn't need modern interventions to thrive. They don't administer any hormones, drugs, herbicides, pesticides, supplemental grain feed, or have neighbors spraying crops either. Visiting the herd is quite the experience, the thunder of bison hooves ringing through the hills will leave an impression on anyone. Okanogan Highlands Bison Ranch truly is a bastion of old school grit, and we are proud to partner with them as our primary source of bison tallow.
